What is a bundled payment?

How do bundled payments work?
Patients
Global 1 is a licensed Third Party Administrator (TPA) and works between your insurance company (for example: Blue Shield or a self-insured company) and the doctors that do the work. Through our program, you will receive one easy-to-understand price before your procedure.
Providers
Global 1 acts as the insurance carrier for the date of surgery. Global 1 collects your patient’s co-payments/deductibles/out of pockets for the surgical procedure, and administers the payment to each provider. We have contracted with payers, we have a dedicated network of certified facilities, and we have a team of experienced bundled administrators to simplify the medical billing process for you and your associated providers.

How is Global 1 involved in my care episode?
Patients
A Global 1 customer service rep will call you to discuss the benefits related to your plan and the out of pocket expenses you should expect. Global 1 will collect your co-payment, deductible, or out of pocket on behalf of your providers for the surgical episode. This includes everything you need for the day of your operation bundled into one simple fee. For example: surgeon, assistant, anesthesiologist, medications for the day of surgery, nursing, and even post-operative care in some cases

We have contracted with payers, we have a dedicated network of certified facilities, and a team of experienced bundle administrators who simplify the medical billing process for you and your clients. We provide cost transparency to your patients and collect and then distribute payments.
